Founded in 1976, African Travel Inc. takes thousands of travelers to Africa each year. This company operates only in Africa, using its expertise and knowledge of the destinations to build quality itineraries. African Travel safaris include deluxe and luxury pre-arranged and customizable vacations.

African Travel safaris explore the parks and reserves of Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia. Guests fly between game-viewing destinations, maximizing the time spent on the ground watching the wildlife. Safaris might include exciting activities such as nighttime game viewing, tracking animals on foot, or floating down a waterway in a mokoro, a type of canoe.

Expert guides lead African Travel safaris on game-viewing excursions, nature walks and city tours. Deluxe hotel and safari camp accommodations and elegant dining options round out the trips.

African Travel offers two types of escorted itineraries -- individual departures and small-group departures. For individual departures, you can choose any day to begin your trip, travel independently and enjoy private sightseeing. Small-group departures with African Travel are for four to 12 guests and depart on scheduled dates.

For adventure seekers, African Travel operates a series of Off the Beaten Path programs. These itineraries are more active than other programs and include varying levels of physical activity. For example, you might climb Mount Kilimanjaro or participate in a gorilla trek in Uganda.

• African Travel offers escorted tours in Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Egypt.
• Safaris are classified according to the quality and amenities of accommodations and restaurants. Most African Travel safaris are deluxe programs, which typically range from $175 to $850 per person, per day, plus airfare. African Travel also offers some luxury programs, which typically range from $400 to $1,150 per person, per day, plus airfare.
