Jao Camp

Jao Camp is situated in the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta, on a densely wooded, oval-shaped island. Shaded by a canopy of trees, the spacious and beautifully designed tents, feature indoor and outdoor showers, a bath, flush toilet, double basins and a "sala" for midday siestas with wonderful views. Raised walkways connect the rooms to the main lodge areas. In addition to the main lounge and dining area, there are two plunge pools, a wine cellar, and a boma for dining under the stars. The camp has a gym for guests who wish to stay active and a spa offering a range of massage therapies. A raised hide located about 20 minutes from camp, is a great place to watch wildlife. The hide can also be used for sleep-outs for a maximum of four people. Jao offers both land and water activities, depending on the fluctuating levels of the Okavango's floodwater. Activities include morning and evening game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, boating and traditional mokoro rides (dug-out canoes). Fishing is also possible, and the guides will be happy to take you to their secret spots to try for Pike and a variety of Bream species.
