DAY 1 ARRIVE KILIMANJARO, TANZANIA/ ARUSHA
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, after clearing immigration and customs formalities, claim your luggage and proceed through the arrivals hall. You will be met by an African Travel Inc. representative, holding a sign with your name on it, and transferred to your hotel. Your evening is at leisure and dinner is on your own account.

Please note: The earliest check in at the hotel is 2:00pm.

DAY 2 ARUSHA / LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy your morning at leisure. After a safari briefing and lunch, begin your overland journey, along with fellow guests to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park and your reserved accommodations.

Pass through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. At the town of Makuyuni turn north west and continue the journey through a scenic escarpment that brings you to your lodge, perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara.

This small but uniquely diverse national park is a wonderful introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife and is also home to the world famous, but rarely seen, tree climbing lions. (BLD)

DAY 3 LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK / SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park and return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, the journey continues north west across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands, filled with wheat and coffee plantations and into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you begin spotting wildlife as you approach the entrance gate. Enter the park with game viewing en route to the lodge, arriving in time for dinner

Serengeti - the very name fires the imagination and is derived from the Masai language meaning "endless plains". The Serengeti offers the greatest concentration of plains animals in Africa. More than two million wildebeest, half a million Thompson's gazelle and a quarter million zebra gather for annual migrations, attracting a great deal of predator attention from lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.

Your days are filled with shared game viewing activities, morning and afternoon, when the animals are most active. (BLD)

DAY 4 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
The Serengeti with its rolling grasslands offers one of the world's most rewarding and evocative wildlife arenas. Enjoy a full day of morning and afternoon game drives in the spectacular Serengeti. Negotiating roads and tracks, your guide slowly transports you to a world of unrivaled scenic splendor, revealing sights and sounds of astonishing realism.

A lion relaxing, temporarily satiated after its morning hunt, contented elephant carefully guarding their young as they traverse the bush, a startled warthog running with tail erect, the ungainly and seemingly endless herds of wildebeest quietly munching grass in company with the zebra - these are some the images you will collect and preserve.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to rest before the afternoon game drive, which ends just before dusk. At the end of the day return to the familiar surroundings of the lodge, pleasantly tired but brimming with enthusiasm about your experiences during the day, indulge in the luxury of a hot shower before dinner. Relax after dinner while the night and its inhabitants settle around you and you ponder the wonders of Africa.

An optional balloon ride is on offer - You will be given an early morning wake-up call and depart at 5:00am for your transfer to the balloon launch site, a 40-minute drive, arriving in time to witness the dawn and the inflation of the balloon.
The exact direction and duration of the flight depends on the wind and weather conditions of the day but the average flight time is about one hour. Part of the flight will be at an altitude high enough for magnificent panoramic views of the plains and part will be at tree top height for unique views of the wildlife. After landing, share a champagne (sparkling wine) toast with your ballooning companions, followed by breakfast served in an unforgettable setting. After receiving your certificate, bid farewell to your ballooning companions before being transferred back to your camp. Enjoy a game drive en route to your camp. The balance of the day is at leisure, until the afternoon game drive. (BLD)

DAY 5 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK / NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
After breakfast, continue your journey with a picnic lunch en route to the Ngorongoro Crater, where the next two nights are spent at a lodge set on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. (BLD)

DAY 6 NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
This morning we’ll depart to the Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the stunning landscape of Ngorongoro Crater combined with its spectacular wildlife is one of the greatest natural wonders of the planet. Enclosed within its towering walls are grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a fresh water lake and a glorious variety of birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before heading back up to the lodge for an afternoon at leisure. (BLD)

DAY 7 NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA / TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Depart after breakfast and begin your road journey south east past Lake Manyara and Mto wa Mbu village. Through the highlands and the Karatu district, view the scenic wheat plains and coffee plantations before journeying down the spectacular escarpment, turning south to the main Arusha – Dodoma road and into Tarangire National Park. From here, enjoy a game drive en route to the lodge. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
Tarangire, one of Tanzania's largest national parks is best known for its large elephant population and the majestic baobab trees that dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. The park is dissected by the Tarangire River which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. (BLD)

After breakfast, travel north east to Arusha. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by a transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport where you will be assisted with check in for your international departure flight. (BL)
