Rwanda safaris are available year-round, although the best time for trekking and game-viewing is during the dry season of June through early September and then late December through February. Since Rwanda lies just south of the equator, daytime temperatures in most parts of the country are consistently warm all year. However, temperatures can be much cooler in the higher altitudes of Rwanda's mountains, especially at night. The rainy season peaks from mid-September through November and from March through May, and gorilla tracking during these times can be nearly impossible.
